Dairy-Free Dining: Mango Torte Spiced Lemon Pound Cake - Ale & Compass

It has happened. My favorite restaurant in Walt Disney World has added a dairy-free/vegan dessert! Oh, happy day.

I don't believe this is even listed on the menu at the restaurant so definitely be sure to ask for it. This Mango Torte Spiced Lemon Pound Cake ($6.50) is a personal cake with Vanilla Pound Cake with a touch of Lemon layered with a Mango Mousse. The whole thing then gets a garnishing of Toasted Coconut, Berries, and a Rasberry coulies.

I'm usually not big on fruity desserts but this is heaven. All the flavors go together beautifully and without each and every one it wouldn't be as rich and balanced. The mango is definitely sweeter and the "mousse" almost comes off as more of a custard but with the pound cake, it takes away any tartness it might have had.

You can try this during lunch and dinner at Ale & Compass at the Yacht Club Resort or at the attached lounge... if you're lucky!
